THE VERY US ARTISTS RELEASES DEBUT ALBUM
OCTOBER 22, 2007 (AVENEL, NEW JERSEY) - The Very Us Artists (VUA), a collection of songwriters, composers and visual artists seeking to widen their exposure and challenge their abilities, will release their debut album, Nascence and Child, on Tuesday October 30, 2007. The album will be for sale on their website, www.veryusartists.com. Digital downloads will also be available. Pre-sale begins October 24, 2007.
The cover art for this album was rendered in oil and entitled Beginning by A. L. Ashbaugh. Musicians hail from both the US and UK including Nancy and Maddy (formerly of Blackmore's Night), Gene 'Noizepunk' Pristsker, Carpentron (Chris Torgersen), Joshua Wentz, Lea+Enrôl Yon, Nick P., Sheri Bauer-Mayorga and Wendy Waves.
The Very Us Artists curates and produces a series of bimonthly albums containing original music and a work of visual art which is promoted and distributed through TownHall Records.
In essence, Very Us Artists albums are indeed "various artists" albums, with the difference being that they're not mere compilations of previously existing music but collections of music and art written specifically for inclusion on a particular Very Us Artists album. With each release, the line-up of musicians and composers varies from song to song but each album centered around a common concept or theme.
Just as each album's musical line-up is different, so is its cover artist, whose art also reflects the theme of that particular album. Each one is released as digital downloads and as a physical CD in a distinctively designed jacket. This packaging is intended to be more than just the housing for the CD. It is, in fact, a work of art itself.
